About the Journal

od·ys·sey [n] : an intellectual or spiritual wandering or quest 1

The Odyssey is an online literary journal that aims to explore the body, the mind and what it means to be human.

We want to gather voices from across the medical world and beyond: doctors, nurses, allied healthcare professionals, students, patients, carers, friends, and anyone who has a story to tell about the body or the mind.

We welcome original writing – fiction, personal essays and poetry.

We have a strong commitment to amplifying female, minority ethnic, LGBTQ+, disabled, and otherwise underrepresented writers.

The Odyssey was founded in 2025 by Dr Triya Chakravorty in her role as Co-Chair of the British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin Young Doctors Forum.
