We try and run away from it
But it always bites back.
No matter if we work, rest or sit
Its powers never slack.
We often dump it in the bin,
Condemn it as a deadly sin,
Forgetting no matter how much we try,
It always comes back on the sly.

Humans relentlessly beg Love for more,
Coveting fidelity above all.
So powerful is it that it had destroyed Shakespeare’s Moor
And raises doubts in relationships which even God cannot stall.

It rises from the dark depths of the soul,
A black cloud that shrouds the warm sunlight of the heart.
The lover suspects the intentions of his beloved are foul
And convicts her of being guilty of a sinful art.

This fiery conviction is only just
If the accused has truly broken your trust.
Although it is wise not to be complacent,
There is no glory in persecuting the innocent.
It is foolish to succumb to so much suspicion,
Instead find a way to manage your tension.
Learn to control this untamed beast
And all your woes shall begin to cease!
